Stevige muziek in combinatie met een tekst over de never ending zoektocht naar identiteit en de constante pressure succesvol te zijn.

Ja maar is een collectief dat bestaat uit Louky van Eijkelenburg en Matthias Tuinstra, het werk dat ze maken zweeft een beetje tussen muziek en theater.
De muziek moet goed zijn, maar de focus ligt vooral op de tekst en op hoe deze wordt gebracht.
Al eerder maakten ze werk over de klimaatcrisis en over het verlangen naar verandering.
Dit keer is het thema rouw. Het optreden is een zoektocht naar hoe precies om te gaan met de dood van een naaste.
Het poogt de hevige de existentiële vragen die dat teweegbrengt te beantwoorden.

Van botten naar zand
Van wat is naar wat was’

Deze keer hebben ze een aantal Sombermannen bij elkaar verzameld, een groep ijzersterke muzikanten die meehelpt om het muzikale rouwproces een extra dimensie te geven.

Men's need, a rational morality.
A morality not based on faith
Not on arbitrary prejudice
Not on emotion
Not mystical or social
But a morality based on reason.
A morality which can be proved by means of logic
If men wants to live on earth and to live as a human being,
he has to hold reason as an absolute.”
